On Wednesday afternoon, a Tucson school bus was rear-ended while stopping, leaving one person injured. All six children and all three adults on the bus were unharmed. The school bus is equipped with seat belts for the driver and passengers.

 The bus was rear-ended while completing its after-school route when it stopped for a railroad crossing. The driver behind the bus failed to stop in time and rear-ended the bus before the crossing. Another driver several cars back rear-ended a car stopping as well. All school buses must stop at railroad crossings to ensure that a train is not approaching and that the bus has enough clearance to safely and completely cross the tracks. It is against the law to pass a stopped school bus.
