University of Evansville student Abby Guerra was said to be dead according to authorities. As family flew in for the funeral, the medical examiner double-checked fingerprint records and realized a terrible mistake had been made. 21-year-old Marlena Cantu was dead. Her friend Abby Guerra was alive and fighting for her life.

According to KSDK, "Guerra was a passenger in a vehicle with four of her friends last Sunday driving back to Arizona from Disneyland when the SUV apparently blew a tire and flipped on Interstate 10, about 50 miles from the family's home in Glendale." Two of the passengers died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. One of those was supposedly Abby Guerra until authorities identified their mistake. So far, they have not figured out just how the mistake was made.

KSDK writes that the girl's injuries were so severe that it was tough to tell who she was, which is probably why Cantu's parents were able to sit by her bedside for so long without realizing that this was not their daughter.

The Florida Associated Press reports that a solder died Sunday after a wreck on base last week. The 36-year-old man was riding his motorcycle when he crashed into a van. The Arizona Daily Star reports that, "[he] was taken to Sierra Vista Regional Health Center before being flown to University Medical Center in Tucson."

The soldier has been identified as Second Lieutenant Mark J. Pincek. The Miami man was training at Fort Huachuca. According to the Florida Associated Press, "Pincek was attending the military intelligence basic officer leadership course at the base, home to the Army's intelligence center."

"A memorial service for Pincek is tentatively planned for Thursday evening at the Main Post Chapel," according to The Arizona Daily Star. 

Authorities are still investigating the tragic accident.

Wednesday morning's deadly accident on 22nd Street was preceded by a beer theft at the Circle K. Police say the thieves stole beer from the store on 22nd and Prudence and then took off in their truck. They headed west on 22nd street before hitting another car. KVOA reports that it is not known whether the other driver suffered any injuries. 

According to KVOA, "Tucson Police responded to a rollover accident and found 37-year-old Henry T Dennison pinned underneath his pickup truck in a wash." Tuscon PD said that the driver lost control before rolling into the wash. The driver has been identified as 37-year-old Henry T. Dennison.

KVOA reports that three passengers left the scene on foot. KVOA writes that, "The male suspect was wearing a dark green shirt, denim shorts, and a redbaseball cap, according to police.  Anyone with information regarding this investigation is urged to call 911 or 88-CRIME."

A single-engine Piper airplane crashed into Round Valley High School in Eagar, Arizona this past Friday.

The plane was registered to a Jeffrey Ulrich of Wesley Chapel, Florida and the remains of four people found on the scene have been confirmed to be Ulrich and his family.

Witnesses say the plane seemed to be having difficulties as it circled around the school building for a few minutes before crashing into the school.  Officials say that Ulrich and his family left Springerville's airport on Friday to go to the Grand Canyon, and soon after the plane hit a light post possibly causing the accident.  Fortunately, the school building was vacant and there were no ground injuries.  

Federal Investigators continue to gather the pieces of the aircraft in a facility in Phoenix in order to investigate exactly what caused this tragic plane accident.

An 81-year old Tucson man who caused a car accident this past Saturday later caused two more accidents on Monday.

On Saturday, the man drove eastbound on 22nd Street when officials believe he had a seizure, causing him to lose control, crash into the entrance of Octopus Carwash, and pin a 71-year old woman.  The woman suffered two broken legs.

The police say they were in the process of having his license medically revoked when he caused two more accidents on Monday.  

Monday, the Tucson police say the man rear ended a vehicle, proceeded to back up, then pulled forward and hit the vehicle once more.  He continued to drive, pulling into a nearby intersection and t-boned a second vehicle.  The man left the scene and was followed by a witness to University Medical Center, where he said he had to pick up his wife.

The Tucson police charged the man with three counts of leaving the scene of an accident and are currently further reviewing the accidents.

17-year-old Wilcox High School Graduate, Aubrey Kirk, is in critical condition after an accident that occurred around 8 AM on Sunday, May 30th.

Kirk was traveling back to Wilcox from Bowie Hot Springs on Rosewood Road in Bowie going westbound when she lost control of her 2004 white Chevy pick-up truck.  The vehicle then rolled three times, throwing the driver and passenger from their seats to outside of the truck.  The two were airlifted to the University Medical Center in Tucson.

The passenger suffered from head and neck injuries but was expected to be released Sunday evening.  Kirk is still in the intensive care unit at UMC and in critical condition.

It is suspected that the two were not wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
