Two injured in propane explosion at Arizona rodeo

by Administrator 7. September 2010 07:01

A propane explosion in a horse trailer on the Sonoita Fairgrounds in Santa Cruz county sent two teenage girls to the hospital with serious injuries. The girls, aged 15 and 18, were staying in the trailer while competing in rodeo events that weekend.  Authorities believe that a slow-propane leak filled the trailer with gas, and the explosion occurred when a scented candle was lit in the structure. The two were transported to the Arizona Burn Center in Phoenix following the accident.

Propane explosions can have a devastating effect on the health and well-being of those involved. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families.

44,000 Army helmets recalled due to manufacturing defects

by Administrator 25. August 2010 13:37

The United States Army has initiated a recall of 44,000 Advanced Combat Helmets made by Hebron, Ohio-based manufacturer ArmorSource, LLC (formerly Rabinex, LLC). According to sources familiar with the recall, the defective helmets do not provide adequate ballistic protection and have failed to meet the military's quality standards. It is estimated that the Army issued 20,000 of the helmets to its soldiers, while 24,000 were issued to the Air Force and U.S. Navy.

Some believe that a Department of Justice investigation will be launched soon to investigate the accusations of defective material use, improper manufacturing practices, and faulty quality-control procedures on the part of ArmorSource, LLC. Soldiers are encouraged to check the manufacturer's label on the inside of their helmets to determine if they have a defective ACH.

Defective products can pose a serious threat to an individual's health and livelihood. For more information on the ArmorSource helmet recall, contact the Tucson product liability attorneys of Haralson, Miller, Pitt, Feldman & McAnally, P.L.C at 800-639-8460 today.

CPSC recalls LG dehumidifiers for fire hazards

by Administrator 13. August 2010 01:52

Earlier this week, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of almost 10,000 LG Electronics portable dehumidifiers.  The recall comes after complaints that the power connector for the compressor could short circuit and cause possible fire and burn hazards.  The defective product is LG's 30 pint portable dehumidifier sold in Wal-Mart, Home Depot, and Heat Controller, Inc. stores from January 2007 to June 2008 for between 140 and 150 dollars.

The CPSC suggests that if you have purchased this product and use it in your home to stop using it and read over LG's recall notice.  Furthermore, if you wish to arrange a free repair they advise owners to contact the GE service center.
